Our first formal dinner was on Wednesday night. It was SO much fun. Everyone dressed up and we had a true Italian meal in Castelfranco. It is about a 30 minute drive from Paderno. We all rode in buses and most of our professors went as well. It was a set 5 course meal. Authentic Italian meal! The meal was as followed:
Antipasti (appetizer)
What was like a small souffle. It was made like a quiche. It had egg, spinach and zucchini in it. It was SO good!
Primi Piatti (rice and pasta dishes)
It was Risotto al radicchio. So yummy. Rice in like a mushroom kind of sauce.
Bigoli al sugo d'antira. A thicker, chewier spaghetti with duck and duck sauce. It was good.
Secondo piatto (main course)
Brasati du manzo. Like brisket and mashed potatoes. That was fabulous!
Dessert
Meringa di'inverno. It was like a chocolate mousse. Very rich but so yummy!
Of course there was wine to go with the different courses. We changed wine twice. White wine for the first two courses and then to red wine because the pasta dish and main course had meat. There was plenty of time for pictures between courses. We arrived around 8 and got home around midnight! Of course, I got to wear my new shoes!!!!
I won't be able to post anything for a while. I am going to Rome, Sorrento, and Venice. I leave in just a little while! Yay!
